Having such impecable taste, it’s no wonder Anita is a big fan of SH handbags. We sat down with her this week to get the SHcoop on everything from wardrobe essentials, to how she’s wearing SH this autumn.
Hi Anita, thank you so much for joining us on The SHcoop! With such a wealth of experience in the fashion industry, we really want to know exactly which essentials you have in your wardrobe this autumn/winter season?
Definitely thermal vests and knitted vests! I’m a BIG fan of layering under and over dresses, blouses, T shirts and jumpers. I like to avoid wearing a coat for as long as possible and clever layering keeps me warm without the bulk of a coat. My brown knee-high boots have been out and about and my white trainers are still an essential. I have whipped out all my corduroy and woollen trousers too!
You are rarely seen without a handbag and regularly use them to add a finishing touch to your outfits. Aside from being stylish accessories, they carry all the things we need for the day. What are some items in your handbag you just can’t leave home without?
I always have my Guerlain lipstick, a packet of tissues, my iPhone and a portable charger - I don’t go anywhere without that as I’m always taking lots of videos which eats up my iPhone battery!
When it comes to handbags, we all have different needs. Do you personally prefer a mini bag that holds just the essentials, or a maxi bag that will hold everything you own and more!?
Actually, I find I use both at different times. A mini bag such as the Ivy is perfect for me if I don’t have to change my shoes, or if I’m with my husband as he always takes a rucksack so I make him carry everything! But a maxi bag is super useful if I need to take my laptop and a pair of low heels and extra gubbins for work.
You have quite a few SH bags in your collection, do you have a standout favourite?
I just LOVE all the combos of the Dahlia 2-IN-1 tote, I literally get stopped in the street when I’m carrying this bag. I think it’s the colour, the duck egg is a universal colour and goes with practically everything I have in my wardrobe. It looks great with neutrals but also bright colours such as green, pink and purple.
I love the Ivy detachable bag as my day-to-day cross body bag and for the evening as a clutch, it’s chic and stylish. The Dahlia works well when I need to have a more formal bag for work and have more things to carry.
As a stylist, we’re sure you love the versatility of SH, what is your favourite way to mix your Sarah Haran bag up? If you could design your dream bag, what would it look like?
You’ve already designed my dream bag – the Dahlia! I think what I like most is the way I can create different lengths with the bag. I go for a short strap with Ivy for a sexy chic look, it makes me feel youthful, as though I’m going clubbing- LOL! For all day comfort I wear my Ivy crossbody. Between meetings and work commitments I opt for Dahlia with a shoulder strap, or with no strap at all to try look sophisticated. Or I’ll wear the Ivy clutch for evening glamour without a strap. The design is so clever and it gives me endless options when I’m styling myself.
